Exclusive Wine Tasting

We start from Budva heading up the hill towards Cetinje, the former capital of Montenegro. Along the way, we have beautiful views of the entire coast of the Budva Riviera, from Ploče in the west, all the way to Reževići coastal village in the east. Further on we pass near the Austrian Hungarian fortress dated from 18^th century, overlooking the sea coast, built for the military and surveillance purpose. Our guide will tell you more about the numerous Austrian fortresses in the coastal region in the rule of Austrian Hungary.

Located in the vicinity of Cetinje, Lipa cave is quite well approachable from the coast. It’s a fantastic work of nature with 2.5km long tunnels and plenty of beautifully shaped underground features. The cave halls and its natural decoration are unforgettable experience for every visitor. It is the only cave in Montenegro equipped and prepared for touristic visit. It’s ideal position provides fantastic views on the Crmnica valley and Skadar lake. We take a small touristic train to the cave entrance and have a guided tour through the cave introducing us all the secrets of nature.

Still full of impressions of the amazing natural creations, we continue our ride to family owned WINE ESTATE in Piperi village. This is one and unique wine estate in Montenegro, where every detail of the facilities and products speaks about devotion and love for wine, from each step in the wine process to careful creation of the bottle and etiquette. Your experience will be complete when tasting prized wines in an authentic wine cellar ambience.

Very interesting fact is that their wines contain no sulphites, normally used for wine stabilisation. They use alternative natural way of cold stabilisation in specially designed inox barrels, which maintain the quality and enables duration even for 50 years. Special treat is their herb brandy, enriched by even 14 local herbs from their property, like lavender, salvia, linden, etc. Only a sip of it gives you a feeling of nature bonding. Their cognac as well contains the natural local flavours, which give the unique taste of the drink.

Not to mention that their wines have been prized on many acknowledged European and world  fairs and exported to different countries. At the testing we have opportunity to taste 3 of their wines, 1 fruit brandy, porto (sweet wine) and cognac. All prepared and served in rustic ambience of their wine cellar followed by traditional Montenegrin snack.

On return we take the road over the Skadar lake National Park, one more jewel of Montenegrin wild nature.
