A journey through taste, tradition, and the spirit of the Mediterranean.
This experience is designed for true lovers of life – travelers who believe that a country is best discovered through its food, aromas, and the warmth of local hospitality.
It is ideal for hedonists seeking authenticity, for those who enjoy tasting, learning, and connecting with people and traditions in every place they visit.
Montenegro’s cuisine mirrors its landscapes – from fragrant olives, fresh seafood, and sun-kissed herbs along the coast, to rich and hearty mountain dishes in the north.
The influence of Ottoman heritage still lingers in traditional recipes, adding depth and spice to local favorites such as slow-cooked meats, savory pies, and honey-sweet pastries.
Across the country, small family-run wineries produce outstanding wines that capture the character of their region. You’ll also explore Montenegro’s proud olive-growing tradition, learning how to recognize the texture, aroma, and taste of true extra virgin olive oil.
Culinary Paths – Tales & Flavors follows the trails of Montenegro’s many cuisines – from the sea to the mountains. Along the way, you’ll savor the freshness of the Adriatic, the calm of mountain air, and the beauty of national parks. You’ll glide across the coast by speedboat, enjoy meals surrounded by nature, and embrace the easy rhythm of the Mediterranean lifestyle.

The culinary adventure begins with a tranquil boat ride through the reed-covered channels of Lake Skadar, followed by a lakeside lunch featuring fish chowder, dried carp, local cheese, and homemade wine. Enjoy storytelling by the chef and owner – a tale of tradition, family, and organic farming.

After breakfast and check-out, explore the hidden corners of Podgorica’s Old Town and its lively green market. Sample local honey, cheese, and delicacies straight from the hands of the producers. Then, we head to a family-run winery near Danilovgrad to learn about traditional winemaking. In the afternoon, visit the magnificent Ostrog Monastery, dramatically carved into the mountain. Overnight in Žabljak.

Start the day with a walk around the enchanting Black Lake in the heart of Durmitor National Park. Then, roll up your sleeves at a local farmhouse for a hands-on cooking workshop dedicated to the beloved Montenegrin “pita.” Learn to prepare this savory pie from scratch, followed by a homemade lunch and an optional evening by the fire in a traditional mountain village.

Enjoy breakfast and a coffee break in a rustic setting before heading toward the countryside near Nikšić. At a picturesque rural household, savor a traditional lunch featuring slow-cooked meat under the "sač." Taste local honey, fruit liqueurs and "rakija" (local brandy) and optionally visit a working beehive in protective gear. Late afternoon transfer to the Bay of Kotor. Overnight in Kotor.

Discover the rich heritage of Kotor’s Old Town UNESCO heritage with a local guide before a short boat ride across the bay. In the afternoon, participate in a coastal cuisine masterclass inside a centuries-old home. Authentic ambience within the ancient stone walls gives a special enjoyment. Together, prepare and enjoy a full dinner of Adriatic specialties in this unforgettable setting.

Travel south with scenic photo stops above the iconic Sveti Stefan. In Stari Bar, explore the open-air museum of the ancient fortified town and learn about the traditional olive oil pressing methods. Lunch is served in a charming stone restaurant with panoramic views, offering oriental-inspired dishes. Overnight in Budva.

Start your day discovering Budva’s Old Town – one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic coast (5 c BC). After some free time to explore or relax, regroup in the evening for a farewell seaside dinner, featuring Montenegrin coastal cuisine, fine wine, and live local music.

Enjoy your final breakfast followed by a relaxed coffee break with a selection of traditional Montenegrin pastries before your transfer to the airport. Until next time – živjeli!
